This is a translation of a Bulgarian-language post. It conveys the content faithfully but is not the author's original English writing.
Parsley planted with asparagus aids the growth of both. They also respond well to basil, which in turn is a wonderful companion for tomatoes. Tomatoes protect asparagus from Crioceris asparagi L. and Crioceris duodecimpunctata L. (asparagus beetles), because they contain the compound solanine.
Experience shows that if tomatoes are planted on both sides of the asparagus row, once the spears have already been picked, both species grow very well. The asparagus foliage should not be cut back, at least not until winter, because the roots need it in order to push up spears the following spring.
