This is a translation of a Bulgarian-language post. It conveys the content faithfully but is not the author's original English writing.
Watermelons, like the other members of the family, are protected from pests by plantings of nasturtium around them. In the planting hole, when you set out the watermelons, you can also sow a few radishes, which you leave to flower and set seed.
Watermelons themselves are a very good companion for potatoes, especially if the potatoes are mulched with straw.
Wherever you plant them — don't forget that they need plenty of sun, so there should be no tall plants around them, as well as plenty of space. Most varieties ripen in 76-85 days.
