This is a translation of a Bulgarian-language post. It conveys the content faithfully but is not the author's original English writing.
Celery thrives with leek, tomatoes, cauliflower and cabbage. It and bush beans support each other. It is good to grow celery in a circle, so that its freely interwoven roots become a welcome home for earthworms and soil microbes. Both celery and leek grow well if the soil around them is loose.
Celeriac and celery produce a hormone very similar to insulin, which makes them an excellent seasoning for diabetics, or for anyone on a salt-free diet.
Celery has no pests and thrives with all garden vegetables. The plants freeze over winter, but the roots remain unharmed, and with the arrival of spring new leaves grow. The leaves can be dried or frozen for winter use.
